ちょうどいい不都合な自然

　私たちは各々の固有の感覚を遮断して、共有出来る感覚を意味に変換して社会を維持している。そして、世界を意味で満たした。それが文明であり都市であり建築である。人は意味で満たされた生活に慣れ切ってしまうと、全てのものには意味がなければならないと思い込む。理解出来ないものや予想が出来ない不都合なものの存在を許せなくなる。都市はとにかく自然が嫌いである。だから子供が嫌いなのは当然である。環境は制御され、出来るだけ変化がないようにする。部屋にいれば一日中明るさは変化しない。風は吹かない。温度は一定である。屋外に出れば都市環境となり、同じ色で同じ固さで舗装された道路がある。わずかに残された子供の遊び場も同じ遊具が置かれた同じような公園ばかり。感覚を鈍感にしようとしている訳ではないだろうが、安全だとか、便利だとか、清潔だとかの理由をつけて感覚を軽視する。また、人はその矛先を人にも向ける。それが自身に向けられた時、生きる意味や価値に悩む。他者に向けられた時、差別を生む。そして、弱者に向けられた時、少子化や幼児虐待、介護問題になる。もうかなり以前から都会ではトイプードルがドレスを着て我が物顔で散歩する姿を見かける。餌も食べるし、ウンチもする。そして、時々病気もする。ペットは案外、手間と心労とお金がかかる。でも、人に危害を加えるようなことはほとんどに無い。何よりも心を癒すかけがえのない存在である。日頃、意味と価値に脅迫し続けられている我々にとって、ペットはちょうどいい不都合な自然なのである。今、都会人にとってこのペット的なるものの枯渇は深刻である。これは遮断してしまった感覚を取り戻そうとする我々の叫びである。我々はこの問題に正面から向き合い新たな都市型住宅を提案すべきである。
　我々にはこのちょうどいい不都合な自然で満たされた住宅が必要である。しかし、自然（生老病死を含む）の少ない社会に育った私たちはそれと関わるのが苦手である。私たち建築家でさえも、せいぜい自然の素材を使って表面を飾ることくらいしかできない。今も残る近代以前の建築には確かに自然の脈動を感じることは出来る。しかし、それを今に生かすことが出来ない。それは何故だろうか。私はこう思う。私たちは自然のことを知らないために必要以上に恐怖心や嫌悪感を抱き、不信感を持っている。そして、時にこの社会で生き残るために自己実現と称し、傲慢で不遜な態度で自然を軽視をする。そのことで大切なものが無くなってしまうことさえも知らないでいる。今この社会で無私で生きることは勇気のいることである。しかし、貪欲な人には自然は冷たい。生かすのは自分ではなく自然である。自分を信じる前に自然を信じることである。頭の中で考えたことは、所詮過去からの贈り物でしかなく、それがもし、新しいとか創造的だと思ったとしたら、それは無知なだけである。我々の創造力は所詮、仏の掌から出られることはない。

A moderately inconvenient nature

We seal the individual unique feelings and maintain a society by converting the feeling that can be shared to meaning.And filled the world in the meaning. It is the civilization, the city, and the architecture.When people become accustomed to life filled with meaning, they assume that everything must have meaning. They can not allowed to exist the things they can not understand or the inconvenient things that can not be predicted.The city dislikes nature anyway. Therefore it is natural for cities to dislike children.We control the environment and try not to change as much as we can.The brightness does not change all day long in the room. The wind does not blow.The temperature is constant. Outside of the city, there is an urban environment, with the same color and paved roads. The slightly left children's playground is just like parks with the same play equipment. I’t isn't trying to make the feeling insensible, but disregard the feeling with reasons such as being safe, convenient, clean and so on. Moreover, person also aim at person the brunt. When it is directed at oneself, person suffer from the meaning and value to live.It creates discrimination when it is aimed at others. And when directed to the weak, it causes a declining birthrate, child abuse, care problems. In the city from a long while ago, We saw a toy poodle wearing a dress and walking proudly.They also eat food and excrete. And they sometimes get sick. Pets are unexpected, troublesome and laborious and costly.But there is almost no harm to people. They are irreplaceable beings that heal our hearts more than anything else.For us who are threatening to meaning and value on a daily basis, pets are just a moderately inconvenient nature.The depletion of this pet-like thing is serious for us now.This is our cry to try to regain the feeling that we have sealed.We should face this problem from the front and propose a new urban housing.
We need a house filled with this moderately inconvenient nature.However, we grew up in a society where nature (including life, aging, disease, death) decreased, we are not good at relating to it.Even architects can only barely decorate the surface with natural materials.It is certainly possible to feel the pulsation of nature in architecture before the modern times left now.But we cannot find out the mystery.Why is that? I think . We hold fear and a hate sense and have distrust more than necessary because we don't find natural.And sometimes called self-realization to survive in this society, disregard nature with arrogant and irreverent attitude.With that, we do not know that something important even is lost. It is courage to live selfless in this society now. But nature is cold to greedy people.The priority should be nature, not oneself.To believe in nature before believing in oneself.What we thought in our mind is a gift from the past. If it thinks that it is new or creative, it is ignorant.Our creativity is, after all, insignificant in the presence of God.
